The Ultimate Pivot Points Alerts tool provides a comprehensive suite for tracking and alerting on various pivot point methodologies, allowing traders to identify key support and resistance levels across different timeframes.

Usage

The tool allows users to select from four popular pivot point calculation methods: Traditional, Fibonacci, Woodie, and Camarilla. Traders can use these levels to anticipate price reversals or breakouts. The indicator supports multiple calculation periods, such as Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly, adapting to different trading styles.

A core feature is the robust alerting system. You can set alerts for price crossing any pivot level or configure specific alerts for individual levels (P, S1-S3, R1-R3). Available alert conditions include "Cross", "Crossover", and "Crossunder" to match specific directional biases.

Details

The script utilizes modern Pine Script drawing features to render levels and labels. Because pivot points are based on high, low, and close data from previous periods, the script tracks these values dynamically.

  • Historical Levels: When enabled, the script maintains a limited history of prior pivot levels on the chart.
  • Current Levels: These are "live" calculations based on the developing current period. While they show where levels might sit once the period closes, they do not trigger alerts until the period is finalized.
  • Alert Logic: Alerts are optimized to avoid "false" triggers on the very first bar of a new session to ensure data stability.

Settings

  • Pivot Type: Selection between Traditional, Fibonacci, Woodie, and Camarilla methodologies.
  • Period: Sets the timeframe for pivot calculations (Day, Week, Month, Year).
  • Show Historical Levels?: Toggles the visibility of past pivot lines.
  • Show Levels Value?: Displays the price value next to the level labels.
  • Show Current Levels: Displays the projected levels for the current, unclosed period as dashed lines.

FAQ

How do I use the alerts for specific levels?

You can configure alerts via the TradingView alert menu by selecting the indicator and choosing the specific condition (e.g., "Crossover R1") from the dropdown list.

Why do historical lines disappear after several periods?

TradingView has a technical limit on the number of active drawing objects (lines) per script. To maintain performance, older historical lines are automatically removed.
