The Relevant Swings ICT (Full Coverage) indicator is a specialized technical analysis tool designed to identify and track unmitigated swing highs and swing lows to highlight potential liquidity pools and areas of interest.

Usage

The Relevant Swings ICT (Full Coverage) indicator identifies pivots based on user-defined sensitivity and projects them forward as horizontal levels. These levels represent "relevant swings" that have not yet been revisited by price action.

The indicator provides a real-time view of market structure by:

  • Highlighting swing highs (red lines) that act as potential buy-side liquidity.
  • Highlighting swing lows (green lines) that act as potential sell-side liquidity.
  • Automatically removing levels once they are "mitigated" (hit by price), allowing traders to focus only on active price levels.

Users can utilize these levels as targets for take-profits or as zones for potential reversals, consistent with ICT and Price Action trading methodologies.

Details

The script utilizes the ta.pivothigh() and ta.pivotlow() functions to detect market turning points. Once a pivot is confirmed (after a set number of bars defined by the sensitivity), a line is drawn and extended to the right.

A core feature of this script is its dynamic mitigation logic. The tool continuously monitors price movement relative to all active swing levels stored in its memory. When a price bar interacts with a level, the script deletes that level from the chart. This ensures the "Full Coverage" aspect, providing a clean workspace that only shows levels currently relevant to the price action.

Settings

  • Pivot Sensitivity: Determines the number of bars required on each side of a high or low to confirm it as a pivot. A higher value results in more significant, long-term swings, while a lower value identifies more frequent, short-term swings.
  • Mitigation on Close: When enabled, a swing level is only considered mitigated if a candle close breaches the level. When disabled, any price touch (including wicks) will mitigate and remove the level.

FAQ

How do I use the Pivot Sensitivity setting?

Increasing the sensitivity will filter out smaller price fluctuations, showing only major structural swings. Decreasing it will show minor internal swings, which is useful for lower timeframe scalping.

What is the difference between wick and close mitigation?

Wick mitigation (default) is more aggressive and removes levels as soon as they are touched. Close mitigation is more conservative, keeping levels on the chart until price successfully closes beyond them, which some traders use to confirm a breakout.
