The Market Sessions Open/Close Levels indicator provides traders with automated price level plots for key global market sessions, helping identify critical support and resistance zones based on session opens and closes.

Usage

The Market Sessions Open/Close Levels tool is used to visualize institutional and retail interest at the start of various global trading windows. Traders often use these levels as breakout points or areas where price might retest throughout the day.

For example, the London Open level can act as a pivot point for European trading sessions; if price remains above the London Open, traders may look for bullish continuations. Conversely, if price falls below the Sydney/Daily Open, the line changes color to indicate a bearish intraday bias.

Details

This script utilizes session-based time logic to capture the opening price of specific sessions (Tokyo, Frankfurt, London, New York, and NYSE). These levels are stored and projected forward until the next session cycle begins.

The Daily Open level (associated with the Sydney session start) is dynamically colored:

  • Bullish: When price is trading above the daily open.
  • Bearish: When price is trading below the daily open.

By using high-precision time inputs, the script ensures that the exact opening price of each session is captured and displayed clearly on the chart without cluttering historical data unnecessarily.

Settings

  • Sydney/Daily Open: Toggles the visibility of the primary daily opening level.
  • NYSE Open: Sets the session time to capture the New York Stock Exchange opening price.
  • New York Open: Sets the session time for the New York forex/futures market open.
  • London Open: Sets the session time for the start of the London trading session.
  • London Close: Sets the session time for the London market close.
  • Frankfurt Open: Sets the session time for the Frankfurt market open.
  • Tokyo Open: Sets the session time for the start of the Asian trading session.
