The ITG Scalper with Early Signals indicator is a comprehensive momentum and trend-following tool that combines the responsive Triple Exponential Moving Average (TEMA) with a filtered MACD logic to pinpoint high-probability scalping opportunities.

Usage

The indicator is designed to help traders identify short-to-medium-term market reversals by looking for confluence between trend direction and momentum.

  • Bullish Signal: A green upward triangle appears when the MACD line crosses above the Signal line while the TEMA is trending upward. This suggests a potential long entry as momentum shifts positive within an established or emerging uptrend.
  • Bearish Signal: A red downward triangle appears when the MACD line crosses below the Signal line while the TEMA is trending downward. This indicates a potential short entry as momentum turns negative during a downtrend.

The TEMA line plotted on the chart serves as a visual guide for the current trend direction and can be used for trailing stop-losses or identifying dynamic support and resistance levels.

Details

This tool leverages the unique properties of the Triple Exponential Moving Average (TEMA), which applies multiple layers of EMA smoothing to significantly reduce the lag typically associated with standard moving averages. By requiring the TEMA to be moving in the direction of the MACD crossover, the script filters out weak momentum signals that occur against the prevailing trend. This dual-layer confirmation aims to provide "early signals" while maintaining a higher degree of accuracy than oscillators used in isolation.

Settings

  • TEMA period: Sets the length used to calculate the Triple Exponential Moving Average for trend detection.
  • Filter fast length: Determines the period for the fast EMA component of the internal momentum filter.
  • Filter slow length: Determines the period for the slow EMA component of the internal momentum filter.
  • Filter signal length: Sets the smoothing period for the MACD signal line used to trigger crossovers.
