The QuantFlow: Precision Momentum Oscillator indicator provides a professional-grade predictive engine designed to analyze the velocity, quality, and exhaustion of market momentum to identify trend changes before they occur in price.

Usage

The tool is primarily used to identify trend shifts, institutional momentum, and market exhaustion. Users can monitor the high-contrast wave which flips between green (bullish) and red (bearish) to determine the current trend direction.

  • Early Reversal Detection: Watch for "Early Warning Sparks" (✦). These signals trigger when momentum velocity shifts before the price reaches the zero-line, serving as a lead indicator for trend changes.
  • Trend Confirmation: When the oscillator clears the 0.618 "Platinum Thresholds," it indicates the market has escaped mean-reversion gravity and is entering a high-velocity trend.
  • Identifying Exhaustion: "Exhaustion Divergences" (●) appear as small circles on the wave. A green circle indicates hidden strength (price lower low, momentum higher low), while a red circle indicates hidden weakness (price higher high, momentum lower high).
  • Volatility Monitoring: The HUD dashboard displays a volatility metric. "COILING" suggests momentum is compressed and an explosive move is imminent, while "EXPANDING" suggests the market is currently in an expansion phase.

Details

The script is built upon a professional-grade Technical Core to ensure accuracy and responsiveness:

  • Zero-Lag ALMA Engine: Utilizes the Arnaud Legoux Moving Average (ALMA) to provide superior smoothness while eliminating the lag common in standard oscillators, ensuring real-time response to price action.
  • MIDAS Volume Integration: Calculations are rooted in cumulative volume-weighting, ensuring the oscillator measures institutional momentum rather than retail price movement.
  • Z-Score Momentum: The core logic uses a Z-Score calculation derived from the distance between price and the MIDAS VWAP, normalized for volatility.

Settings

Anchor Settings

  • Anchor Method: Determines how the cumulative volume resets (Auto, Timeframe, or Date).
  • Manual Timeframe/Date: Allows users to manually define the anchor point for the volume calculations.

Momentum Logic

  • ALMA Length: Sets the lookback period for the Arnaud Legoux Moving Average.
  • ALMA Sigma: Adjusts the Gaussian width; higher values increase smoothness.
  • ALMA Offset: Controls responsiveness; higher values reduce lag.
  • Reversal Zone (Fib): Sets the threshold for the overbought/oversold "Platinum" lines.

Visual Appearance

  • Colors: Customizable colors for bullish, bearish, and range states.
  • Show Background Trend Zones: Toggles background highlighting based on trend status.

Dashboard & Alerts

  • Show Predictive Markers/Divergences: Toggles the visibility of Sparks and Divergence circles.
  • Momentum Dashboard: Options to customize the table size, position, and transparency.

FAQ

How do I use the "Sparks" effectively?

The Predictive Sparks are designed to alert you to a change in momentum velocity. They often appear while price is still at an extreme, signaling that the internal "engine" of the market has already shifted direction.

What does "Coiling" mean on the dashboard?

Coiling indicates that market volatility is significantly lower than its recent average. This usually precedes an explosive breakout, and traders often wait for the status to flip to "Expanding" before entering.
