Footprint IQ Pro
Feb 17, 2025

The Footprint IQ Pro indicator provides a comprehensive order flow analysis toolkit, visualizing tick-level volume delta and distribution directly on the price chart. This tool aims to help traders identify areas of high liquidity, buying/selling imbalances, and significant volume nodes to better understand market sentiment and potential support or resistance levels.
Usage
The indicator displays detailed "Delta Boxes" at various price levels. Each box contains critical metrics that can be toggled in the settings:
- Delta (δ): The net difference between buying and selling volume at that specific price level.
- Delta Ratio (δ%): Represents the delta as a percentage of the total volume at that level.
- Total Volume (⧎): The cumulative volume traded at the price level.
- Total Buy/Sell Volume (◭/◩): Individual breakdowns of buying and selling pressure.
Imbalance Detection A core feature of the script is detecting price levels where one side of the market significantly outweighs the other.
- Individual Imbalances: Highlighted when the net delta exceeds a user-defined percentage (default 70%) of total volume.
- Stacked Imbalances: These occur when multiple imbalances appear at sequential price levels. They are often interpreted as strong, volume-supported price moves. Users can define the required number of sequential levels (default 3) and set alerts for these events.
High Delta Levels The tool tracks and displays historical levels with the highest positive and negative net delta. These "High +Delta" (blue lines) and "High -Delta" (red lines) act as institutional-grade support and resistance zones.
Details
The script offers three levels of granularity for footprint calculation:
- 1-Minute: Uses 1-minute lower timeframe data.
- 1-Second: Provides higher precision for users with compatible TradingView plans.
- 1-Tick: The most granular level, processing individual tick data for maximum accuracy.
The tool also includes a CVD (Cumulative Volume Delta) mode. When enabled, the footprint levels display the accumulated historical volume delta rather than the per-bar delta, offering a perspective on long-term trend exhaustion or absorption.
Settings

- Tick Level Distance: Defines the vertical size of each footprint row. Can be set to "Auto" (ATR-based) or a manual tick value.
- Use CVD Levels: Toggles between periodic delta and cumulative delta tracking.
Delta Boxes

- Show Total Volume/Buy/Sell: Toggles specific volume metrics.
- Footprint IQ Delta Symbols: Toggles between concise icons (δ, ⧎, etc.) and descriptive text labels.
Imbalances & Lines
- Value Area %: Sets the percentage of total volume used to calculate the Value Area High/Low.
- Imbalance Percentage: Threshold for detecting buying/selling imbalances.
- Stacked Imbalance Count: Number of sequential imbalances required to trigger a stacked imbalance signal.
- Highest +/- Delta Levels To Show: Determines how many historical high-interest delta levels are drawn on the chart.
FAQ
How do I interpret a stacked imbalance? A stacked imbalance suggests aggressive market participation at multiple price levels, indicating a high probability that the move is driven by large players and is likely to continue.
Can I use this on any timeframe? Yes, but the accuracy depends on the "Granularity" setting and your TradingView subscription level, especially when using 1-second or tick-level data.
How can I access Footprint IQ Pro? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
