BB-RSI-ADX Entry Points
May 9, 2022

The BB-RSI-ADX Entry Points indicator is a comprehensive technical analysis tool designed to identify potential mean-reversion opportunities by filtering overbought and oversold conditions with momentum and trend strength confirmation.
Usage
This tool generates visual signals on the chart to assist traders in identifying reversal entry points. A green arrow indicates a potential long entry, while a red arrow indicates a potential short entry. These signals are generated based on a confluence of four specific criteria:
- Long Entry: Triggered when the current candle low is below the lower Bollinger Band, the BB %B is above a specified minimum, the RSI is within a target range (defaulting above 30), and the ADX signifies sufficient trend strength (defaulting above 25).
- Short Entry: Triggered when the current candle high is above the upper Bollinger Band, the BB %B is below a specified maximum, the RSI is within a target range (defaulting below 70), and the ADX confirms trend strength (defaulting above 25).
The indicator is versatile across various timeframes, though it is often utilized on lower timeframes like the 3-minute for scalp or day trading setups.
Details
The indicator combines multiple classic technical analysis concepts to reduce false signals often found in standard mean-reversion strategies:
- Bollinger Bands: Used to define the volatility-adjusted price range. Signals require price to exceed the outer standard deviation bands to ensure a significant extension from the mean.
- BB %B (Modified): The tool calculates a secondary, tighter set of bands using a standard deviation of (StDev - 1). This allows the %B calculation to detect price shifts and relative positioning more sensitively than standard bands.
- Relative Strength Index (RSI): Acts as a momentum filter to ensure the market is not excessively overextended in one direction without showing signs of stabilization.
- Average Directional Index (ADX): Serves as a trend filter. By requiring a minimum ADX level, the script attempts to ensure that the entry occurs when there is sufficient market participation and trend strength, rather than in completely stagnant conditions.

FAQ
How do I interpret the signals?
A Green arrow appearing below a candle suggests a potential long reversal, while a Red arrow above a candle suggests a potential short reversal. These appear only when all BB, RSI, and ADX filters are simultaneously met.
Can I change the sensitivity of the signals?
Yes, you can adjust the "StdDev" for the Bollinger Bands or the "ADX Min Strength" in the settings to increase or decrease the frequency of the signals.
