The MACD ZERO LAG Screener indicator provides a multi-timeframe dashboard that tracks trend momentum across several cryptocurrency assets simultaneously using a zero-lag version of the Moving Average Convergence Divergence. This tool aims to give traders a comprehensive view of market sentiment by eliminating the inherent delay found in traditional EMA-based indicators.

Usage

The indicator displays a table on your chart showing the "BUY" or "SELL" status of four major crypto assets (BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP) across five customizable timeframes.

  • BUY Signal: Displayed when the Zero-Lag MACD histogram is above zero (positive momentum).
  • SELL Signal: Displayed when the Zero-Lag MACD histogram is below zero (negative momentum).

Traders can use this dashboard to identify trend confluence. For example, if an asset shows "BUY" across the 15m, 1H, and 4H timeframes, it indicates strong bullish alignment.

Details

The Zero-Lag MACD is constructed using Double Exponential Moving Averages (DEMA) rather than standard EMAs. By calculating the difference between a single EMA and a double EMA, the indicator compensates for the lagging nature of moving averages, resulting in a signal that reacts significantly faster to price changes.

Due to the technical limitations of the security function in Pine Script (limited to 40 calls per script), this specific version is optimized to monitor 4 assets across 5 timeframes, tracking both the trend state and calculation logic for each.

Settings

  • Fast Length: The period for the shorter DEMA calculation.
  • Slow Length: The period for the longer DEMA calculation.
  • Signal Length: The period for the signal line smoothing.
  • 1st - 5th Resolution: Allows users to select the five specific timeframes to be displayed in the dashboard.
  • Table Position: Determines where the dashboard table is anchored on the chart (e.g., Top Right, Bottom Left).

FAQ

How do I interpret the "BUY" and "SELL" labels?

The labels represent the current state of the MACD Zero Lag histogram. A "BUY" label indicates the histogram is positive, while a "SELL" label indicates it is negative.

Can I add more assets to this screener?

To maintain performance and stay within the platform's script limits, the assets are hardcoded. However, you can open multiple charts with different configurations or modify the open-source code to track different symbols.
