The MTF SuperTrends Nexus indicator provides a comprehensive visualization of up to eight multi-timeframe SuperTrends, allowing traders to identify cross-timeframe trend confluence and momentum shifts with ease.

Usage

The Usage section focuses on how to interpret the interactions between multiple SuperTrend layers. By plotting several timeframes simultaneously, users can look for "confluence zones"—areas where multiple SuperTrend lines align in the same direction.

  • Confluence Analysis: When multiple SuperTrends coalesce, the semi-transparent fills create a compounding effect. More opaque areas indicate stronger multi-timeframe agreement, suggesting a more robust trend.
  • Trend Reversals: Traders can monitor lower-timeframe SuperTrends for early signs of a reversal while keeping the higher-timeframe trend as a primary filter.
  • Utility Center: The script acts as a control center where you can toggle specific timeframes on or off to clean up the chart or focus on specific trend dynamics (e.g., combining 5m, 15m, and 1h trends).

Details

The indicator is designed to avoid "lookahead bias" by utilizing request.security() with lookahead_off. This ensures that the multi-timeframe data displayed is based only on information available at that specific point in time, preventing misleading historical backtesting results. The "Nexus" concept is implemented through compounding fills and end-of-chart labels that provide real-time data for each active SuperTrend, including its period, factor, and current price value.

Settings

  • Color Theme: Selection of various aesthetic themes (e.g., Synthwave, Futurist, Crypto).
  • Fill SuperTrend Areas: Toggles the semi-transparent background fill between the SuperTrend line and the price.
  • Hide SuperTrends on Timeframes Lower Than the Chart: Automatically hides plots that originate from a timeframe smaller than the current chart resolution to prevent clutter.

FAQ

How do I interpret the different shades of color on my chart? The opacity increases when multiple SuperTrend fills overlap. A darker or more vivid color indicates that multiple timeframes are currently in a bullish or bearish state simultaneously.

Why are some SuperTrends not appearing on my chart? Check if the "Hide SuperTrends on Timeframes Lower Than the Chart" setting is enabled. If it is, any timeframe setting lower than your current chart interval will be filtered out.
