Trend Channel
Apr 22, 2025

The Trend Channel SwiftEdge indicator provides a comprehensive trend identification system by combining a dynamic price channel with a multi-timeframe dashboard and intelligent signal filtering. It aims to offer traders clear insights into market direction by ensuring that signals on the current chart align with broader market trends across multiple timeframes.
Usage
The tool can be used to identify trend phases and potential entry points based on the alignment of short-term and long-term price action.
- Trend Identification: The dynamic channel changes color based on the current price relationship with the moving average bounds. A green channel indicates an uptrend, red indicates a downtrend, and blue/gray indicates a neutral or sideways market.
- Signal Execution: Buy signals (🚀 AI BUY) are generated when the price crosses above the upper channel and is confirmed by the trend direction of a user-selected higher timeframe. Sell signals (🛑 AI SELL) appear when the price crosses below the lower channel while the higher timeframe trend is bearish.
- Dashboard Analysis: The top-right dashboard displays the trend status (UP, DOWN, or NEUTRAL) for six standard timeframes (1M, 5M, 15M, 1H, 4H, D1). Traders should look for confluence across these timeframes to confirm high-probability trade setups.
Details
The script operates using a core Moving Average (MA) as the backbone of its calculations.
- Dynamic Channel: The upper and lower bounds are derived from the highest and lowest values of the MA over a period typically double the MA's length. This creates a buffer zone that filters out minor price fluctuations.
- MTF Logic: The indicator uses
request.securityto fetch trend data from multiple timeframes simultaneously. - Signal Filtering: The script includes logic to check "even higher" timeframes if the primary signal filter timeframe is neutral. For example, if the 15M filter is neutral, the script evaluates the 1H and 4H trends to find a definitive bias.

FAQ
How do I interpret the MTF Dashboard?
The dashboard shows the trend status for multiple timeframes. If the majority of timeframes show "UP" in green, it indicates strong bullish momentum across the market.
What is the best timeframe for the Signal Filter?
This depends on your trading style. Scalpers might use a 5M or 15M filter, while swing traders might prefer a 4H or Daily filter to ensure they are trading with the primary market trend.
How do I access Trend Channel SwiftEdge?
