Scalping Swing Trading Tool R1-4 by JustUncleL
Jan 7, 2017

The Scalping Swing Trading Tool R1-4 indicator provides a comprehensive suite of technical overlays designed to identify trend continuations, pullbacks, and reversals for multi-timeframe scalping strategies. It integrates trend-following ribbons, price action channels, and market structure labels to streamline technical analysis on intraday charts.
Usage
The Scalping Swing Trading Tool R1-4 is optimized for a dual-pane layout, typically utilizing a 15-minute timeframe for trend identification and a 1-minute timeframe for precision entries.
- Trend Identification: Use the long-term EMAs (200/180) as a directional anchor. When the price is above the 200 EMA on the 15-minute chart, focus on long positions; when below, focus on short positions.
- Pullback Monitoring: Traders look for prices to retraces into the EMA 5-12 channel or the EMA 12-36 ribbon. Market structure points like Higher Highs (HH) or Lower Lows (LL) can assist in drawing manual trendlines during these phases.
- Entry Confirmation: A breakout from a pullback trendline, combined with a bar color change (indicating a close outside the Price Action Channel), signals a potential resumption of the primary trend.
- Multi-Timeframe Execution: After identifying a breakout on the 15-minute chart, traders can drop down to the 1-minute chart to find localized pullbacks and entries using the same EMA and PAC logic.
Details
The script consolidates several technical concepts into a single interface:
- Price Action Channel (PAC): A channel based on the EMAs of High/Low/Close prices. It serves as a dynamic support/resistance zone and a filter for momentum.
- Multi-Timeframe EMAs: The script automatically adjusts its long-term moving averages based on the chart interval. On a 15-minute chart, it calculates EMAs 89, 200, and 633. On a 1-minute chart, it switches to EMAs 75, 180, and 540 to maintain structural consistency.
- EMA Ribbon: A series of moving averages ranging from length 12 to 36. The ribbon color changes based on the slope and position of the fast EMA (12) relative to the slow EMA (36).
- Market Structure: The tool identifies Fractals and "Pristine" (5-candle V-shape) patterns to label swing highs and lows, including HH (Higher High), LH (Lower High), LL (Lower Low), and HL (Higher Low).
Settings
- Show Price Action Channel (PAC): Toggles the visibility of the EMA-based High/Low/Close channel.
- Show coloured Bars close relative on PAC: Enables bar highlighting; blue for closes above PAC, red for closes below, and gray for closes inside.
- High Low PAC Length: Adjusts the lookback period for the Price Action Channel calculation.
- Show PAC Swing Alerts: Enables visual signals when price exits the PAC.
- Filter PAC Alerts with 200ema: When enabled, alerts only trigger in the direction of the long-term trend (200 EMA).
- Show EMA5-12 Channel / EMA12-36 Ribbon: Toggles the visibility of the fast and medium trend ribbons.
- Show Pivots / Pivot Labels: Displays market structure pivot points and their respective labels (HH, LL, etc.).
- Show Fractals: Toggles fractal triangle icons on the chart.
- Filter for Pristine (Ideal) Fractals: Filters fractal detection to only show strict 5-candle V-patterns.
FAQ
How do I interpret the different bar colors? Bars turn blue when the price closes above the Price Action Channel (bullish momentum) and red when closing below (bearish momentum). Gray bars indicate the price is consolidating within the channel.
What is the difference between regular and "Pristine" Fractals? Regular fractals use a standard lookback/lookahead logic, while Pristine fractals require a specific "tent" or "V" shape involving five candles to ensure only the most significant swing points are highlighted.
