The HaP MACD indicator is a momentum-based technical analysis tool that integrates Double Exponential Moving Average (DEMA) logic into the classic MACD framework to provide faster response times and clearer trend visualizations.

Usage

The HaP MACD is used to identify trend direction and momentum shifts through a combination of traditional MACD lines and a unique DEMA-based signaling system. Traders can interpret the visual output as follows:

  • Entry Signals (Blue Dot): Appears when DEMA conditions first align for a bullish move, suggesting a potential entry point.
  • Strong Momentum (Green Dot): Indicates an active bullish trend where the MACD value is increasing.
  • Warning Signal (Orange Dot): Signals that the bullish trend is still active but momentum is slowing down (MACD is lower than the previous bar).
  • Exit Signal (Red Dot): Appears when bullish conditions end, suggesting it may be time to close positions or tighten stop losses.

Traders can also utilize the standard MACD histogram and line crossovers to confirm trend direction, with optional triangle markers available in the settings to highlight classic crossovers.

Details

This tool calculates two distinct MACD components:

  1. Standard MACD: Used for plotting the primary MACD and Signal lines, providing a familiar baseline for trend analysis.
  2. DEMA MACD: Utilizes the Double Exponential Moving Average for signal generation. DEMA reduces lag significantly compared to standard EMAs, allowing the indicator to detect shifts in momentum earlier than traditional oscillators.

The "HaP" logic combines the position of the DEMA MACD line relative to its signal line with the slope of the signal line itself to determine the specific dot color displayed on the chart.

Settings

Inputs

  • Source (Kaynak): Determines the price data used for calculations (default is Close).
  • Fast Period (Hızlı Periyot): The period for the fast moving average component.
  • Slow Period (Yavaş Periyot): The period for the slow moving average component.
  • Signal Period (Sinyal Periyodu): The period for the signal line calculation.
  • Oscillator MA Type: Choose between EMA or SMA for the main oscillator calculation.
  • Signal MA Type: Choose between EMA or SMA for the signal line calculation.

FAQ

How do I use the color-coded dots?

The dots indicate momentum status: Blue is the initial signal, Green is strong momentum, Orange is fading momentum, and Red is the exit signal.

What makes this different from a regular MACD?

The inclusion of DEMA (Double Exponential Moving Average) allows for significantly reduced lag, providing earlier signals than standard EMA-based indicators.
