The Zero Lag Trend Signals indicator identifies market trend direction and entry points by utilizing a zero-lag EMA paired with volatility-based bands.

Usage

The indicator can be used to identify trend reversals and high-probability entry points within a confirmed trend.

  • Trend Identification: Large "BUY" and "SELL" labels appear when the price crosses the upper or lower volatility bands, signaling a shift in the primary trend.
  • Entry Signals: Small triangle symbols (▲/▼) appear when the price retraces to the Zero Lag Basis line while the overall trend remains intact, suggesting potential continuation entries.
  • Multi-Timeframe Analysis: A dashboard in the top-right corner displays the trend status (Bullish/Bearish) across five different user-defined timeframes, allowing for confluence checking.

Details

The script is built around a Zero-Lag Exponential Moving Average (ZLEMA), which reduces the inherent delay found in traditional moving averages by adjusting the data for lag. To filter out market noise, the indicator calculates a volatility band based on the Average True Range (ATR).

  • A bullish trend is established when the price closes above the ZLEMA plus the volatility offset.
  • A bearish trend is established when the price closes below the ZLEMA minus the volatility offset.

Settings

Main Calculations

  • Length: Sets the look-back window for the Zero-Lag EMA calculations.
  • Band Multiplier: Adjusts the thickness of the volatility bands; higher values reduce noise and generate fewer signals.

Extra Timeframes

  • Time frame 1-5: Allows users to customize which timeframes are monitored in the multi-timeframe dashboard.

Appearance

  • Bullish Color: Customizes the color for bullish signals and dashboard elements.
  • Bearish Color: Customizes the color for bearish signals and dashboard elements.

FAQ

How do I use the Multi-Timeframe table?

The table shows the current trend status of the selected asset across five different timeframes. Traders often look for alignment (e.g., all timeframes being green) to confirm a strong market move.

What is the difference between the Labels and the Triangles?

The "BUY/SELL" labels represent a structural trend change based on volatility band breakouts. The small triangles represent secondary entries or "pullbacks" within that established trend.
