Smart Money Breakouts
Jan 6, 2025

The Smart Money Breakouts indicator identifies market structure shifts using Change of Character (CHOCH) and Break of Structure (BOS) patterns to signal potential breakout opportunities. It provides an automated approach to technical analysis by combining price action patterns with volume verification and dynamic risk management tools.
Usage
This tool is used to identify trend reversals and continuations through automated market structure labeling.
- Breakout Identification: The indicator automatically labels CHOCH (Change of Character) for potential reversals and BOS (Break of Structure) for trend continuations.
- Volume Verification: Each breakout signal is accompanied by a colored volume icon (🟢, 🔴, or 🟡). This helps traders determine the strength of a move; for instance, a green volume label on a long breakout suggests higher conviction.
- Trade Management: When a signal occurs, the script projects Take Profit (TP) and Stop Loss (SL) levels based on the Average True Range (ATR). Users can visualize their potential trade outcomes directly on the chart.
- Performance Tracking: A real-time data table tracks wins, losses, and overall P&L based on a user-defined lookback period, allowing for strategy optimization across different timeframes.
Details
The indicator calculates market structure by monitoring pivot highs and lows over a specific length. A breakout is confirmed when price exceeds these levels using either the candle wicks or bodies, depending on user preference. The risk-to-reward levels are calculated dynamically using the ATR to adapt to current market volatility. Additionally, the integrated volume analysis checks the ratio of bullish versus bearish volume within the breakout formation period to provide a "conviction" score for the signal.
