ATR OSC and Volume Screener (ATROSCVS)
Apr 26, 2023

The ATR OSC and Volume Screener indicator provides a comprehensive dashboard for monitoring the volatility and trading volume of over 30 different symbols simultaneously. By combining a normalized ATR Oscillator with a Volume Screener, this tool allows traders to identify overbought/oversold conditions and significant volume spikes across a wide range of assets in a single view.
Usage
The tool is primarily used as a heatmap to scan the market for specific conditions. The ATR Oscillator (ATR OSC) acts as a volatility-normalized momentum indicator. When the heatmap displays cooler colors (blue/green), it indicates lower ATR OSC values, often associated with oversold conditions or low volatility. Conversely, warmer colors (orange/red) represent higher ATR OSC values, suggesting overbought conditions or high volatility.
The Volume Screener highlights unusual trading activity. It uses a normalized calculation method to filter out standard market noise, making it easier to spot significant accumulation or distribution phases across the selected cryptocurrency pairs.
Details
The script implementation relies on two core calculations:
- ATR Oscillator: Unlike a standard RSI, this oscillator uses the Average True Range (ATR) in a modified z-score calculation. This ensures that the scale remains intact even with long lookback periods, preventing the indicator from "flattening" at extreme ranges.
- Normalized Volume: This feature calculates the relative volume by comparing current values against a lookback period while excluding statistical outliers. This provides a clearer picture of whether current volume is genuinely significant compared to recent history.
Settings
Core Parameters
- Enable Values: Toggles the numerical display of indicator values within the heatmap cells.
- ATR Osc Length: Sets the lookback period for the ATR calculation.
- ATR Osc Smoothing: Determines the smoothing factor applied to the oscillator output.
- ATR Osc Outlier Lookback/Level: Controls the statistical filter for the oscillator to handle extreme price movements.
- Volume Smoothing: Sets the smoothing period for the volume data.
- Volume Outlier Lookback/Level: Adjusts the sensitivity of the volume normalization to filter out anomalies.
- Scale: Adjusts the visual size of the dashboard on the chart.
Symbols
- s01 - s36: Allows users to input custom symbols (e.g., BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT) to be tracked by the screener.
