The Fibonacci Volume Profiles indicator blends Fibonacci retracement levels with volume distribution analysis to help traders identify high-probability areas of support, resistance, and market confluence. By visualizing volume profiles directly alongside key Fibonacci levels, users can better determine the strength of price interaction at specific market structures.

Usage

The indicator provides two distinct modes for calculating Fibonacci levels and volume profiles:

  • Continuous Mode: Automatically detects dynamic pivot highs and lows based on a user-defined time horizon. This mode is ideal for tracking evolving market structures without manual adjustment.
  • Custom Period Mode: Allows users to set specific start and end points via time inputs. This is useful for analyzing volume distribution within a specific trend or trading range.

Traders can use the integrated volume profile to confirm Fibonacci levels. If a Fibonacci retracement level aligns with a high-volume node or the Point of Control (PoC), it suggests stronger historical interest and potential price reaction. Conversely, low-volume zones may indicate areas where price could move quickly.

Details

The script constructs a volume profile by grouping historical volume data into price bins (determined by the Profile Resolution setting). It identifies the Point of Control (PoC) as the price bin with the highest traded volume within the selected range. The Fibonacci levels (0%, 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, 78.6%, and 100%) are overlaid on top of these profiles.

In Continuous mode, the indicator dynamically updates as new pivots are formed. In Custom Period mode, the levels remain static based on the selected timestamps, with an optional "Extend Right" feature to project levels into the future for forward-looking analysis.

Settings

Main Settings

  • Fibonacci Mode: Switch between "Continuous" (dynamic) and "Custom Period" (fixed range) calculations.
  • Extend Fibonacci Lines Right: Extends the lines to the right of the chart when in Custom Period mode.
  • Show Profile: Toggles the visibility of the volume profile histogram.
  • Time Horizon (Continuous Mode): The lookback period used to identify pivot highs and lows.

Time Settings

  • Fibonacci Start / End: Sets the time range for the Custom Period mode.

Profile Settings

  • Profile Resolution: Determines the number of price bins used in the volume profile. Higher values provide more detail.
  • Profile Horizontal Scale: Adjusts the width of the volume profile bars.
  • Profile Transparency: Controls the opacity of the volume profile.
  • Profile Colors: Customizable colors for the volume distribution.

Fibonacci & Fill Colors

  • Fib Level Colors: Individual color settings for each retracement level.
  • Fill Colors: Adjustable colors for the background zones between Fibonacci levels.
