The RSI3graf. 3 RSI in one window indicator provides a multi-period view of the Relative Strength Index (RSI) within a single pane, allowing traders to monitor momentum across different timeframes simultaneously.

Usage

This tool is designed to identify momentum shifts and potential reversal zones by comparing short-term and long-term RSI values. Users can observe how different periods react to price action; for example, when the fast RSI (Period 9) diverges from the slow RSI (Period 24), it may signal an exhaustion in the current trend.

The indicator features visual highlights for extreme market conditions:

  • Overbought Area: Highlighted in red when the RSI exceeds the upper threshold (calculated as 100 minus the RSI Limit).
  • Oversold Area: Highlighted in green when the RSI falls below the lower threshold (defined by the RSI Limit).

Details

The script calculates three independent RSI lines based on user-defined lengths (defaulting to 24, 14, and 9). The construction utilizes a symmetrical boundary system where a single "Limit" input determines both the overbought and oversold levels. For instance, a limit of 30 sets the lower boundary at 30 and the upper boundary at 70. The background and plot fills provide immediate visual feedback regarding which zone the fastest RSI is currently occupying.

Settings

  • Length RSI 1: Sets the calculation period for the first (slowest) RSI line.
  • Length RSI 2: Sets the calculation period for the second (intermediate) RSI line.
  • Length RSI 3: Sets the calculation period for the third (fastest) RSI line.
  • RSI limit: Determines the distance from the edges (0 and 100) for the overbought and oversold levels. A value of 30 creates levels at 30 and 70.

FAQ

How do I interpret the three different lines?

The three lines represent different sensitivities to price changes. The shorter period (9) reacts quickly to price movements, while the longer period (24) provides a smoother trend perspective. When all three align in extreme zones, it often indicates a high-probability reversal area.

Can I change the overbought and oversold levels?

Yes, by adjusting the "RSI limit" setting. If you set the limit to 20, the oversold level will be 20 and the overbought level will be 80.
