Impulse OTE Fibonacci & Trend Catcher V2
Feb 5, 2026

The Impulse OTE Fibonacci & Trend Catcher V2 indicator is a multi-layered trading tool designed to identify high-probability trade setups by combining trend direction, impulsive price movements, and Optimal Trade Entry (OTE) Fibonacci levels. It aims to filter out market noise and prevent early entries by requiring a specific sequence of trend shifts, impulsive expansions, and confirmed pullbacks.
Usage
The indicator follows a systematic four-step process to identify trade opportunities:
- Trend Shift: The script monitors the relationship between price, a 45-period EMA, and an Anchored VWAP. A trend shift is signaled by up or down arrows when these conditions align.
- Impulse Identification: Once a trend is established, the script looks for a price "impulse" (displacement). This displacement is filtered by an ATR multiplier to ensure the move is significant.
- OTE Pullback: After an impulse is locked, the script automatically draws Fibonacci levels. It monitors for a "READY" signal, which occurs when price pulls back into the Optimal Trade Entry zone (typically between the 0.618 and 0.786 levels).
- Confirmed Entry: An "ENTRY" signal is printed only after a specific price action confirmation occurs following the pullback, such as a candle breaking the high/low of the "READY" candle or closing outside the OTE zone.
Details
The script utilizes several advanced technical concepts:
- Anchored VWAP: Resets based on user-defined sessions (RTH, London, NY, etc.) to provide a dynamic baseline for trend determination.
- ATR Displacement Filter: Uses Average True Range to measure the magnitude of price swings, ensuring Fibonacci retracements are only drawn on meaningful market moves.
- Confirmation Logic: Offers multiple entry modes (Aggressive, Safer, or Hybrid) to suit different risk appetites, focusing on price action relative to the OTE zone.
Settings
Important - Execution
- Enable Session Filter: Restricts signals to specific high-liquidity time windows.
- VWAP Anchor: Sets the reset point for the Anchored VWAP (e.g., RTH for NQ, London for Forex).
- ATR Displacement Multiplier: Controls the sensitivity of impulse detection. Higher values result in fewer, higher-quality signals.
Trend & VWAP
- EMA Length: Adjusts the period for the trend-following Exponential Moving Average (default is 45).
- Ignore Trend arrows for N bars: Prevents signal clusters immediately following a VWAP reset.
- Touch Tolerance (%): Defines how close price must come to the VWAP to trigger a "Touch" alert.
Fibonacci & Entry
- Impulse pivot length: Sets the lookback period for identifying swing highs and lows.
- ENTRY confirmation: Choose between "Aggressive" (breaking the ready candle), "Safer" (closing out of OTE), or "Hybrid" modes.
- Max Wait After Ready: Limits the number of bars the script will wait for an entry confirmation after a pullback.
FAQ
How do I interpret the "READY" versus "ENTRY" labels? The "READY" label indicates that price has reached the desired retracement zone (OTE). The "ENTRY" label only appears once the price action confirms a reversal back into the original trend direction.
Which timeframes is this script optimized for? The script is primarily designed for the 1-minute timeframe to capture precise intraday impulses, but it can be toggled to work on other timeframes in the settings.
How can I access the Impulse OTE Fibonacci & Trend Catcher V2? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
