The Triple Moving Averages Foxx indicator provides a multi-layered trend analysis framework by plotting three distinct simple moving averages to help traders identify momentum shifts and potential entry points.

Usage

The Usage section focuses on interpreting the interaction between the three moving averages to determine market direction. Traders typically look for the alignment of the lines to gauge trend strength.

  • Trend Identification: A bullish trend is often characterized by the Fast MA being above the Standard MA, which is in turn above the Slow MA. Conversely, a bearish trend is indicated when the Fast MA is below the Standard MA and the Slow MA.
  • Crossover Signals: The script specifically tracks the relationship between the Fast MA and the Standard MA. A crossover (Fast moving above Standard) may signal an emerging bullish momentum, while a crossunder (Fast moving below Standard) may signal emerging bearish momentum.
  • Support and Resistance: The various moving average lines can act as dynamic support or resistance levels during trending markets, providing areas for potential trade re-entries.

Details

The Triple Moving Averages Foxx is constructed using three Simple Moving Average (SMA) calculations. By utilizing three different timeframes, the tool filters out short-term market noise while still providing responsive signals via the faster lengths.

The script is optimized for performance and includes built-in alert conditions for crossovers between the primary trend-tracking lines. This implementation follows the original logic developed by @AndryFoxx, refactored for modern charting standards.

Settings

  • Fast Length: Sets the period for the quickest moving average (default is 5). This line reacts most rapidly to price changes.
  • Standard Length: Sets the period for the intermediate moving average (default is 10). This serves as the primary baseline for crossover signals.
  • Slow Length: Sets the period for the long-term moving average (default is 22). This line represents the broader trend direction.
  • Source: Determines the price data used for the calculations, such as open, high, low, or close.
