The RSI+PA+DCA Strategy indicator provides a comprehensive framework for buying market dips using a combination of Relative Strength Index (RSI) triggers, Price Averaging (PA) layers, and optional Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA). It aims to manage entry risk by scaling into positions during downward price movement and exiting systematically as the market recovers.

Usage

The strategy initiates a "Long1" position when the RSI crosses above the oversold level while price remains below a specified Moving Average filter. Once the initial position is active, the script sets up five additional Price Averaging (PA) layers at user-defined percentage drops below the initial entry price.

  • Price Averaging (PA): As price falls and hits these layers, subsequent "Long" entries are executed. This process lowers the average position price, visualized by a bold white line on the chart.
  • Take Profit (TP): Each individual entry has its own profit target. However, if the market price exceeds a specific percentage above the total average position price, the strategy can exit all positions simultaneously to capitalize on the recovery.
  • Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA): An optional feature allows the strategy to buy a fixed currency amount every Monday, provided an open position exists and the current price is below the average cost.

Details

This strategy utilizes a FIFO (First In, First Out) rule for closing entries. This means the first exit order triggered will close the earliest entry opened. The script plots the entry layers and the average position price dynamically to help traders visualize their "break-even" and profit zones. By using specific time-interval entries (Weekly DCA) alongside price-action entries (PA layers), the strategy attempts to mitigate the impact of volatility in long-term investment scenarios.

FAQ

How do I use the RSI+PA+DCA Strategy?

Apply the script to your chart and adjust the PA layer percentages to match your risk tolerance. The strategy will automatically plot your average entry price and profit targets.

What is the difference between PA and DCA in this script?

PA (Price Averaging) triggers based on specific percentage price drops, whereas DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) triggers based on a fixed time interval (every Monday) regardless of the specific price, as long as it is below the average.
