ICT Hydra Macros
Feb 16, 2024

The ICT Hydra Macros tool helps traders identify specific time-based windows by drawing customizable colored boxes that automatically adjust to the high and low prices of those intervals. This script aims to simplify the visualization of manipulation or expansion macros, allowing users to quickly spot key periods of market activity across multiple sessions.
Usage
The indicator can be used to monitor up to 26 individual time frames (macros) simultaneously. Each macro is represented as a box on the chart, spanning the specified start and end time. Users can use these boxes to:
- Identify the price range (high/low) established during a specific time window.
- Monitor manipulation or expansion phases as taught in various ICT-based strategies.
- Label sessions with time text to quickly distinguish between different scheduled events.
The boxes are dynamic; as price moves within the specified session, the box height updates to contain the price action. Once the session concludes, the box remains as a historical reference for support, resistance, or range analysis.
Details
The script executes based on user-defined timezones (defaulting to America/New_York) to ensure alignment with major market sessions. It utilizes TradingView's box drawing objects to create visual overlays. A key feature is the "True Macro Open" line, which can plot a horizontal level at the start of a macro to provide a reference point for price deviations. To maintain chart performance, users can limit the number of days the script draws and set a maximum timeframe for visibility.
