The ICT Structure Levels (ST/IT/LT) indicator helps traders identify institutional market structure by mapping Short-Term (ST) and Intermediary (IT) swing highs and lows with a unique wick-validation filter.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to navigate complex price action. Unlike standard pivot high/low indicators that mark every local extreme, this tool requires that the bars surrounding a pivot point are formed by wicks rather than flat bodies. This ensures that the identified levels represent significant liquidity points or sweeps.

Traders can use this tool to:

  • Map market structure across multiple timeframes and layers (Short-Term and Intermediary).
  • Identify high-probability liquidity grabs by filtering out noise from random price action.
  • Integrate structure levels into Break of Structure (BOS) and Change of Character (CHoCH) trading strategies.
  • Combine structure points with other ICT concepts such as Order Blocks and Fair Value Gaps.

Details

The script executes a logic-based validation for each pivot. For a Short-Term Low (STL) to be confirmed, the middle candle must be the lowest of the three-bar formation, and the candles on either side must have lower wicks. This specific "wick-driven" condition confirms that price was rejected at those levels, providing a more robust structural foundation.

Intermediary levels (ITH/ITL) are calculated based on the relationship between existing Short-Term levels. An Intermediary Low, for example, is confirmed when a Short-Term Low is flanked by two higher Short-Term Lows. This hierarchical approach allows for a cleaner visualization of market trends.

Settings

  • Show STH/STL: Toggles the visibility of Short-Term Highs and Lows on the chart.
  • Show ITH/ITL: Toggles the visibility of Intermediary Highs and Lows, often represented with extended lines for better visual context.
  • Show debug info: Displays a table in the top-right corner showing the count of detected structural levels and array storage data.

FAQ

How do I use the wick validation feature?

The wick validation is automated within the script logic; it ensures that only levels with price rejection (wicks) on neighboring bars are plotted, reducing false signals.

What do the ST and IT labels represent?

ST stands for Short-Term (basic 3-bar pivots with wick filters), and IT stands for Intermediary (pivots formed by the relationship between multiple ST levels).
