TKP RSI BAR COLOR
Jul 8, 2020

The TKP RSI BAR COLOR indicator provides a highly customizable visual overlay that colors price bars based on Relative Strength Index (RSI) levels to help traders identify momentum and overbought/oversold conditions at a glance.
Usage
The TKP RSI BAR COLOR indicator can be used to visualize momentum directly on the price chart. By default, the script colors bars red when the RSI is below 50 and green (or white, depending on platform settings) when it is above 50. Traders can utilize this to:
- Identify Trend Momentum: View price action through the lens of RSI momentum without needing a separate oscillator pane.
- Spot Overbought/Oversold Zones: Customize colors for levels above 70 or below 30 to highlight potential exhaustion points or reversal zones.
- Filter Trades: Use the RSI > 50 condition as a bullish filter or RSI < 50 as a bearish filter for trend-following strategies.
Details
This tool is inspired by the "RSI Bar Colors" concept by Scilentor but expands the functionality by offering granular control over the full RSI range (0-100). The implementation splits the RSI scale into 5-point increments, allowing for precise color mapping across twenty different segments. This structure enables traders to create complex color gradients or specific highlights for any part of the RSI range. The logic is calculated using a standard RSI formula with a configurable length.
Settings
- Length: Sets the lookback period for the RSI calculation (default is 14).
- RSI Range Colors: A comprehensive list of color inputs for each 5-point increment of the RSI (e.g., 0-5, 5-10, ..., 95-100). These allow you to assign specific colors to the price bars whenever the RSI falls within those specific bounds.

Can I change the sensitivity of the bar coloring?
Yes, by adjusting the "Length" input in the settings, you can make the RSI (and therefore the bar coloring) more or less sensitive to recent price fluctuations.
