The CCI/MFI/VZO/RSI - HEATMAP indicator provides a comprehensive visual representation of market momentum and trend exhaustion by aggregating four popular oscillators into a single heatmap and composite line. This tool aims to help traders identify confluent overbought or oversold conditions across multiple technical metrics and timeframes.

Usage

The indicator displays four distinct horizontal bands, each representing one of the following oscillators:

  • CCI (Commodity Channel Index): Measures price deviation from its statistical average.
  • MFI (Money Flow Index): Analyzes both price and volume to identify buying or selling pressure.
  • VZO (Volume Zone Oscillator): Gauges the relationship between volume and price movement.
  • RSI (Relative Strength Index): Evaluates the speed and change of price movements.

The color of each band shifts between the defined bullish and bearish colors based on the current value of the respective oscillator. Additionally, a "Combined" line is plotted, representing the average behavior of all four indicators. Traders can use the "Combined" line to spot high-probability reversals when the value breaches the user-defined overbought or oversold thresholds.

The indicator also includes a Multi-Timeframe (MTF) feature, allowing users to overlay a composite line from a higher timeframe to ensure their analysis aligns with broader market trends.

Details

This tool is inspired by the Byzantium Oscillator Heatmap concept and refactored for modern performance. It scales the various oscillators—which typically use different ranges (e.g., RSI 0-100 vs. CCI -350-350)—into a normalized scale for the "Combined" calculation. The gradient coloring logic uses a relative midpoint for each oscillator to ensure visual consistency across the heat segments.

Settings

Length

  • RSI: Period used for the Relative Strength Index calculation.
  • VZO: Period used for the Volume Zone Oscillator calculation.
  • MFI: Period used for the Money Flow Index calculation.
  • CCI: Period used for the Commodity Channel Index calculation.

Alert Thresholds

  • Oversold: The level below which the combined line triggers a bullish signal (default: 26).
  • Overbought: The level above which the combined line triggers a bearish signal (default: 74).

Colors

  • Bullish Color: The color assigned to high oscillator values.
  • Bearish Color: The color assigned to low oscillator values.

Multi-Timeframe

  • Enabled: Toggles the display of the higher timeframe composite line.
  • Higher Timeframe: The timeframe used for the MTF calculation (e.g., Daily, 4-Hour).
  • Color: The color assigned to the MTF composite line.

FAQ

How do I interpret the heatmap colors? Darker or more intense bullish/bearish colors indicate that the specific oscillator is reaching an extreme value, suggesting a potential trend exhaustion or strong momentum in that direction.

What do the triangles on the indicator represent? The upward (▲) and downward (▼) triangles represent signals when the combined oscillator line crosses the oversold or overbought thresholds, respectively.
