The Deep Crab Harmonic Pattern Reversal Zones indicator identifies high-probability reversal points by detecting the specific 5-point X-A-B-C-D extension structure known as the Deep Crab. This tool helps traders pinpoint exhaustion levels where price action is likely to undergo a sharp trend change, utilizing precise Fibonacci ratios.

Usage

The tool automatically scans the chart for the Deep Crab structure. Traders use it to find entry points at the "D" leg, which represents the Potential Reversal Zone (PRZ).

  • Bullish Deep Crab: Signals a potential transition from a downtrend to an uptrend. A long position is typically considered at point D, with a stop-loss placement below point X.
  • Bearish Deep Crab: Indicates the potential exhaustion of an uptrend. A short position is typically considered at point D, with a stop-loss placement above point X.

The indicator provides visual confirmations and labels to simplify the identification of these complex harmonic structures.

Details

The Deep Crab is a variation of the standard Crab pattern, distinguished primarily by the depth of the "B" point retracement. While a standard Crab has a B point retracement between 38.2% and 61.8% of the XA leg, the Deep Crab requires a deeper 88.6% retracement. The final "D" point typically extends to a 1.618 projection of the XA leg, signaling a volatile and extended move before a reversal.

The script utilizes a ZigZag-based logic to identify pivots and calculate the internal Fibonacci ratios required for a valid pattern.

Settings

Logical Setting

  • ZigZag Pivot Period: Adjusts the sensitivity of the pivot detection; higher values detect longer-term patterns, while lower values detect more frequent, short-term patterns.
  • Show Valid Format: When enabled, the indicator only displays patterns that strictly adhere to the defined Fibonacci ratios without market noise.
  • Show Formation Last Pivot Confirm: If enabled, the pattern is only displayed once the final pivot (D) is fully confirmed, reducing false signals but increasing lag.
  • Period of Formation Last Pivot: Sets the lookback period specifically for the confirmation of the final D pivot.

Display Setting

  • Show Bullish/Bearish Pattern: Toggles the visibility of specific pattern directions.
  • Color Bullish/Bearish Pattern: Customizes the visual color of the patterns on the chart.
  • Width Line: Adjusts the thickness of the lines connecting the X-A-B-C-D points.
  • Label Size: Changes the size of the text labels on the chart.
  • Switching Colors Theme Mode: Provides presets for Light or Dark chart themes.

Alert

  • Alert: Toggles the alert system on or off.
  • Message Frequency: Defines how often the alert triggers (All, Once Per Bar, or Per Bar Close).
  • Show Alert Time by Time Zone: Adjusts the timestamp in alert messages to a specific UTC offset.

FAQ

How do I use the Deep Crab Harmonic Pattern Reversal Zones?

You can use it to identify specific price exhaustion zones at point D of the structure. Traders often look for candle confirmations at these zones to enter reversal trades with a clear risk-to-reward ratio based on the X point.

What is the difference between a Crab and a Deep Crab?

The primary difference is the B point retracement. The Deep Crab features a much deeper 88.6% retracement of the XA leg, whereas the standard Crab is shallower.
