The Bitcoin Kill Zones v2.1 indicator highlights specific high-volatility trading sessions and "kill zones" on the chart to help traders identify optimal periods for market liquidity and institutional activity.

Usage

The indicator is designed to visually segment the trading day into key sessions known for high volatility and specific price action characteristics. By identifying these zones, traders can better anticipate breakouts, reversals, or trend continuations.

  • London Open/Close Kill Zones: Use these to identify volatility injections during the European session start and end.
  • New York Kill Zone: Focus on the overlap and the start of the North American session.
  • Asia Kill Zone: Identify the range established during the Tokyo/Asian session.
  • Gemini Auctions: Specifically highlights the Gemini exchange auction times for North American and Asian markets.

Each zone is color-coded, with optional "Real Open Session Alert Bars" that appear darker to pinpoint the exact opening window within a larger kill zone.

Details

The script operates by tracking time-based sessions. It uses configurable session strings to determine when to apply background highlights. A unique feature of this script is its ability to include or exclude weekends and adjust its visual output based on the chart's timeframe (automatically disabling on timeframes higher than 4 hours to maintain chart clarity). The script also includes built-in alert logic that triggers at the start of each major kill zone.
