HTF Candle Volume Profile
Jun 1, 2026

The HTF Candle Volume Profile indicator projects higher timeframe (HTF) price action and its corresponding volume distribution directly onto the current chart, providing a bridge between lower timeframe execution and higher timeframe structure. By visualizing synthetic HTF candles alongside intra-candle volume histograms, traders can identify key institutional value areas and liquidity levels without switching chart views.
Usage
The tool is designed for multi-timeframe analysis, allowing users to anchor a higher timeframe (e.g., Daily) while trading on a lower timeframe (e.g., 15-minute). It projects up to four candles to the right of the current price action to prevent chart clutter.
- Institutional Value: The Point of Control (POC) within each HTF candle marks the price level with the highest traded volume. These levels often serve as strong support or resistance when retested.
- Trend Confirmation: By observing the "migration" of the POC across consecutive HTF candles, traders can gauge the health of a trend. Rising POCs indicate a bullish trend, while falling POCs suggest bearish momentum.
- Liquidity Targets: The High and Low level lines represent HTF extremes. Price often treats these levels as "draws on liquidity," making them ideal targets for take-profits or areas to watch for potential reversals.
Details
This indicator uses a synthetic projection method to draw HTF data. It calculates the OHLC (Open, High, Low, Close) values for the selected anchor timeframe and builds a volume histogram (profile) for each period based on the lower timeframe data available on the chart.
Key visual components include:
- Synthetic Candles: Visual representations of the HTF OHLC.
- Intra-Candle Volume Profile: A horizontal histogram inside the candle body showing volume distribution.
- Point of Control (POC): The specific price level with the highest volume in that HTF period.

FAQ
How do I use the POC line in my strategy?
The POC represents the "fairest price" where the most business was conducted. Traders often look for price to react to these levels as they signify high-interest areas for institutional participants.
Can I change the transparency of the profiles?
Yes, the colors and their visibility can be adjusted in the "Style" section of the settings menu to match your chart theme.
