Trendline Breakouts
Jan 22, 2026

The Trendline Breakouts indicator automatically identifies and projects trendlines from recent pivot points to highlight potential breakout opportunities in real-time. By dynamically adjusting to price action, the tool helps traders visualize market structure and detect momentum shifts through automated trendline construction and breakout signaling.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify trend continuation or reversal setups.
- Breakout Detection: When price crosses a projected trendline, the indicator plots a signal (triangle) indicating a potential entry point. Bullish breakouts occur when price crosses above a descending trendline, while bearish breakouts occur when price crosses below an ascending trendline.
- Risk Management: Upon a confirmed breakout, the indicator automatically projects Take Profit (TP) and Stop Loss (SL) levels. These are calculated based on market volatility and a user-defined Risk:Reward ratio.
- Visualization: Users can choose between "Wicks" or "Body" for pivot detection to align the trendlines with their specific strategy preferences.
Details
This script constructs trendlines by identifying pivot highs and lows over a specific lookback period. Once a pivot is confirmed, the script calculates the slope between the current and previous pivot to project the line forward.
The indicator includes a "Neutral Band" which uses a volatility-adjusted calculation to create a zone around the trendline. This helps filter out minor price fluctuations and focuses on significant breaks. The target levels are dynamically generated based on the distance between the breakout point and a volatility-adjusted risk measure.
