Order Flow
Nov 15, 2025

The Order Flow indicator provides a detailed breakdown of market activity by visualizing buy volume, sell volume, and delta directly on the chart through a structured tabular format.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used to analyze market sentiment and intra-bar volume dynamics. By requesting data from a lower timeframe (LTF), the tool allows users to see the underlying aggressive buying and selling that forms the current bar.
Users can utilize this tool to:
- Identify imbalances between buyers and sellers by monitoring the Delta and Delta %.
- Confirm price breakouts with high Buy Volume or Sell Volume.
- Track total participation via the Total Volume display.
The indicator is highly customizable, allowing you to toggle specific data rows (like Delta % or Total Volume) based on your analysis needs.
Details
The script utilizes the requestUpAndDownVolume function from the TradingView volData library to extract granular volume data from a lower timeframe than the current chart. This method ensures that the "Buy" and "Sell" distinctions are based on actual trade executions rather than simple price movement heuristics.
To provide accurate results, the script requires a "Data Granularity" setting. Using 1-second or 1-tick data provides the highest precision for calculating the volume delta, though it may require specific TradingView subscription levels to access historical intraday data.
Settings
Data Granularity
- Data Granularity: Selects the lower timeframe used to calculate volume data (1 second, 1 tick, or 1 minute).

- Delta: Toggles the display of the numerical difference between buy and sell volume.
- Buy volume: Toggles the display of the total buying volume.
- Sell volume: Toggles the display of the total selling volume.
- Total volume: Toggles the display of the combined buy and sell volume.
- Delta, %: Toggles the display of the delta as a percentage of the total volume.
Alerts

FAQ
How do I access the Order Flow indicator?
You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
Why do I need to select a Data Granularity?
The script needs to look at "inside" the current bar using a smaller timeframe to accurately determine how much volume was initiated by buyers versus sellers.
Does this indicator work on all timeframes?
Yes, but the effectiveness depends on the availability of lower timeframe data for the specific symbol being charted. High-resolution data like 1-second bars is recommended for the most accurate order flow representation.
