SignalsOscillators

The Binaryoption indicator is a technical analysis tool that combines Stochastic RSI and Relative Vigor Index (RVI) to identify potential market reversals through on-chart signal arrows.

Usage

The script is primarily used to spot overbought and oversold conditions that align with momentum shifts. A bullish signal (up arrow) is generated when the Stochastic RSI is in the oversold region (below 30) and performs a bullish crossover, while the RVI also confirms with a bullish crossover. Conversely, a bearish signal (down arrow) appears when the Stochastic RSI is overbought (above 70) and crosses downward, synchronized with a bearish RVI crossover. These signals help traders identify high-probability entry points based on the confluence of two distinct momentum oscillators.

Details

The indicator calculates the Stochastic RSI by applying the Stochastic formula to RSI values, providing a more sensitive measure of price momentum. It simultaneously calculates the Relative Vigor Index (RVI), which measures the conviction of a current price trend by comparing the closing price to the trading range. By requiring both indicators to cross over in the same direction while the Stochastic RSI is at extreme levels, the script filters out minor fluctuations and focuses on significant trend pivots.

Settings

  • Length: Determines the period used for the Relative Vigor Index (RVI) calculation.
  • smoothK: Sets the smoothing period for the Stochastic %K line.
  • smoothD: Sets the smoothing period for the Stochastic %D line (the moving average of %K).
  • lengthRsi: The lookback period for the underlying RSI calculation.
  • lengthStoch: The lookback period for the Stochastic calculation applied to the RSI.
  • RSI Source: Specifies the price data (e.g., close, open, high, low) used as the input for the RSI.

FAQ

How do I interpret the signal arrows?

An upward green arrow indicates a bullish confluence where the Stochastic RSI is recovering from oversold levels and the RVI momentum is turning positive. A downward red arrow indicates a bearish confluence where the Stochastic RSI is dropping from overbought levels and the RVI momentum is turning negative.

Can I use this on any timeframe?

Yes, the Binaryoption tool can be applied to any timeframe, though it is often used on shorter intervals for intraday momentum strategies. Users should adjust the length settings to suit the volatility of their chosen timeframe.
