MTF VWAP
Feb 17, 2024

The MTF VWAP indicator provides a comprehensive view of Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) calculations across multiple timeframes, allowing traders to identify institutional value levels and liquidity zones from a single chart.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the MTF VWAP can be integrated into a trading strategy. By visualizing Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly VWAPs simultaneously, traders can identify areas of confluence where multiple timeframes align, often signaling significant support or resistance.
Examples of usage include:
- Trend Confirmation: Observing price relative to the Daily and Weekly VWAP to determine intraday and swing bias.
- Mean Reversion: Identifying overextended price action that may return to the higher-timeframe VWAP levels (Monthly or Yearly).
- Automatic Anchoring: The indicator automatically resets at the start of every new session (Day, Week, Month, Year), ensuring the volume-weighted calculation remains accurate without manual intervention.
Details
This script implements a robust multi-timeframe logic that calculates VWAP by tracking accumulated volume and price data from the start of each specific period. To ensure performance and accuracy on lower-timeframe charts where bar history might be limited, the script utilizes an optimized request system. This calculates the appropriate higher timeframe context to ensure that the VWAP length remains within the platform's processing limits while maintaining precision.
