The Swing Multi Moving Averages Crypto and Stocks Strategy indicator provides a versatile trading framework that combines multiple moving average types with time-based execution and integrated risk management.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used, particularly for swing trading strategies on crypto and stock markets. The strategy is designed to enter positions during specific market sessions (Mondays) and hold them through the week, exiting either via fixed risk targets or at the end of the week (Sundays).

Example scenarios include:

  • Long Strategy: Enable long entries to capture upward momentum when the price crosses above the selected moving average during the Monday session.
  • Short Strategy: Enable short entries to capture downward trends when the price crosses below the selected moving average during the Monday session.
  • Risk Adjustment: Use the fixed percentage Take Profit and Stop Loss settings to automate trade exits based on volatility.

The strategy allows for a maximum of one entry per week to maintain a swing-trading profile. It is recommended to run separate instances for long and short positions to optimize parameters for each direction, as market dynamics often differ between bullish and bearish trends.

Details

The script executes based on the interaction between price action and a user-selected moving average. A "cross" is defined as the current candle closing above/below the moving average while the previous candle closed on the opposite side.

The tool includes a wide array of moving average calculations:

  • Standard Filters: SMA, EMA, WMA, VWMA, SMMA.
  • Adaptive & Advanced Filters: ALMA, KAMA, FRAMA, VIDYA, JMA, and T3.
  • Lag-Reduced Filters: DEMA, TEMA, ZLEMA, and Hull MA.

The time condition restricts entries to the Monday session, ensuring trades are initiated at the start of the trading week. Exits are handled by a dual logic: either the price hits the defined percentage-based Stop Loss/Take Profit levels, or the strategy closes the position automatically on Sunday.

Settings

  • SHORT Stop Loss %: The percentage distance from the entry price to place the stop loss for short positions.
  • SHORT Take Profit %: The percentage distance from the entry price to place the take profit for short positions.

FAQ

How do I filter for only specific days? The script is hardcoded to enter only during the Monday session and close on Sunday if targets are not met. This is designed to capture weekly price swings.

Can I use this for intraday trading? While it can be applied to lower timeframes, the logic is optimized for swing trading due to the weekly entry and exit conditions.
