Alerts EMA RSI [ Buy/Sell ]
Jun 7, 2020

The Alerts EMA RSI [ Buy/Sell ] indicator is a comprehensive technical analysis tool that integrates trend-following and momentum-based signals to identify potential long and short entries. It combines Multiple Time Frame (MTF) analysis of Exponential Moving Averages (EMA) with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Stochastic oscillators to provide a robust view of market direction and momentum exhaustion.
Usage
The tool is designed to highlight buy and sell opportunities based on the convergence of trend and momentum indicators.
- Long Signals (Buy): Triggered when the RSI crosses over key levels (30, 40, 50, 60, 70) and the fast EMA (EMA5) indicates positive momentum. The script also looks for bullish divergences and volume support.
- Short Signals (Sell): Triggered when the RSI crosses down through significant thresholds (80, 70, 60, 50, 40) while the EMA5 momentum turns negative.
- Trend Confirmation: The indicator uses orange and yellow EMA lines on the chart to visualize the underlying trend, helping users filter signals that occur against the primary market direction.
Details
The script operates by calculating indicators across three distinct time windows to capture different market behaviors:
- Oscillators: The RSI and Stochastics are calculated using a faster timeframe multiplier to detect early reversals and momentum shifts.
- Trends: The EMAs and MACD components are calculated on a higher timeframe multiplier to ensure the signals align with the broader market structure.
- Volatility and Volume: The script incorporates ADX to measure trend strength and a customized Force Index to analyze volume flow and market depth.
- Divergence Detection: It includes a built-in logic to scan for regular and hidden divergences across RSI, Stochastics, and MACD Histogram to anticipate potential trend reversals.
Settings
- Fast Length (FL): Sets the lookback period for the primary fast moving averages and oscillators (Default: 11).
- Slow Length (SL): Sets the lookback period for the slower moving averages used for trend baseline (Default: 22).
- Time Frame Multiplier: Adjusts the relationship between the chart timeframe and the calculated indicators for MTF analysis.
