ICT Seek & Destroy Profile
May 31, 2023

The ICT Seek & Destroy Profile indicator identifies and anticipates potentially "choppy" New York trading sessions based on price action occurring during the preceding Asian and London sessions. By monitoring if the London session expands beyond both the high and low of the Asian range, the tool provides visual warnings and tracks the historical success rate of these volatility forecasts.
Usage
The Usage section focuses on identifying "Seek & Destroy" market conditions, which are typically characterized by erratic, non-trending price action. Users can utilize the script to avoid overtrading during sessions with low probability for sustained moves.
Identifying Potential S&D Days
A potential Seek & Destroy warning is triggered when the London session takes out both the high and the low of the Asian range. This is often viewed in ICT methodologies as a sign of a "choppy" or "range-bound" New York session to follow. When this condition is met, a red "Potential S&D Day" label appears, and an optional warning table displays on the chart for the duration of the New York session.
Validating Session Success
The script evaluates the accuracy of its warnings based on user-defined success criteria. A "Successful S&D Day" is marked with a green label if the New York session meets any of the following:
- Inside Day: NY price action stays entirely within the London range.
- Outside Day: NY price action expands beyond both the London high and low.
- Close Within Range: The NY session closes within the London high/low boundaries.
- Small Range: The NY range is smaller than a specified standard deviation of historical NY ranges.
Details
The script operates by tracking three distinct killzones: Asia, London, and New York. It calculates the high and low for each session and stores historical data to provide statistical feedback.
The standard deviation calculation for the "NY Range Too Small" criteria is performed by taking the average of all New York ranges loaded on the chart. If the current NY range is less than or equal to the historical mean multiplied by the user-defined factor (default 1.0), it is flagged as a successful prediction of low volatility.
The indicator also includes a statistics table that displays the total sessions analyzed, the number of warnings issued, and the percentage of successful predictions based on the active success criteria.
