Time Based

The Key Levels SpacemanBTC IDWM indicator automatically plots institutional and retail significance levels across multiple timeframes to help traders identify trend strength and potential reversal points. This tool streamlines the process of technical analysis by providing a clear visual representation of daily, weekly, monthly, and session-based price anchors.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify market structure and key liquidity areas. Traders can use these levels to anticipate where price might find support or resistance based on historical significance.

  • Identifying Trend Strength: By observing how price interacts with higher-timeframe opens (e.g., Weekly or Monthly Open), users can gauge the current market sentiment. Price sustained above an open level typically indicates bullish momentum.
  • Range Trading: The Monday Range and session-specific levels (London, New York, Asia) allow traders to define intraday boundaries.
  • Customizing Visuals: The "Display Style" setting allows users to choose between "Standard" (fixed levels) and "Right Anchored" (levels projected from the right side of the chart) to declutter the workspace.
  • Shorthand Mode: Enabling "Global Text Shorthand" converts long labels like "Prev Day High" into "PDH," which is ideal for high-frequency charts or users preferring a minimalist interface.

Details

The script executes by requesting data from various timeframes using the request.security function. It calculates several types of levels:

  • Open Levels: The starting price for a specific period (4H, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly).
  • Previous High/Low: The maximum and minimum price reached in the prior period, often used as liquidity targets.
  • Midpoints: The mathematical center (Mean) between the high and low of a period, used to identify equilibrium.
  • Session Ranges: Specific high/low data for the London, New York, and Tokyo trading sessions based on user-defined time inputs.
  • Monday Range: A specialized calculation that tracks the high and low established during the first trading day of the week.

FAQ

How do I adjust the time for the session ranges?
You can modify the "London Session," "New York Session," and "Tokyo Session" inputs under the FX Sessions group in the settings menu using the HHMM-HHMM format.

Why are some levels not appearing on my chart?
Ensure the specific timeframe or level (Open, High, Low, or Mid) is checked in the settings. Also, check that "Merge Levels" isn't hiding a level that is nearly identical to another active one.
