The FVG Instantaneous Mitigation Signals indicator is a powerful tool designed to identify and highlight instances of "instantaneously" mitigated fair value gaps (FVGs). These are specific gaps in the market that get mitigated just one bar after they are formed, triggering signals upon mitigation. To enhance these signals, this indicator also incorporates take profit and stop loss areas, as well as a trailing stop loss feature, offering a comprehensive trading strategy.

How to Trade the FVG Instantaneous Mitigation Signals Indicator?

Instantaneous Fair Value Gap (FVG) mitigation is a novel concept introduced in this indicator. It describes a situation where the price mitigates a fair value gap very quickly – precisely one bar after the gap's creation. The indicator then signals a sentiment that is opposite to the direction of the mitigated fair value gap. For instance, a bearish FVG that is instantaneously mitigated will result in a bullish signal, and vice versa.

Fair value gap areas that are subject to instantaneous mitigation are highlighted along with their average level. This level is extended until it is reached in a direction opposite to the FVG bias, providing potential support or resistance levels for traders.

Traders can refine their signals further by using the "FVG Width Filter" setting, which allows them to highlight more volatile fair value gaps that are prone to instantaneous mitigation, by setting higher values for filtering.

Take Profit and Stop Loss Areas

The indicator can display take-profit and stop-loss areas when a new signal appears. These areas start from the average level of the mitigated FVG and adjust by plus or minus N Average True Range (ATR) values, determined by the multipliers set by the user. A higher multiplier means these areas are positioned further away from the price, which suits longer-term market movements.

Utilizing the Trailing Stop Loss

The trailing stop loss is a crucial feature that increases in level when the price reaches a new higher high or lower low since the trailing level was set. Users can set a higher trailing stop multiplier to keep it farther from the price initially, reducing the likelihood of premature stops.

The reset conditions for the trailing stop can be set to "Every Signal," both bullish and bearish, or "Inverse Signal" to reset only when a signal of the opposite bias is identified. This setup helps maintain an existing trailing stop when a new signal aligns with the current bias.

Understanding Fair Value Gaps and Market Dynamics

indicator image

Fair Value Gaps (FVGs) are a staple for price action traders, arising from a disparity between supply and demand. When prices return to fill these imbalance regions, it is called "mitigation" or "rebalancing." The term "instantaneous mitigation" describes a swift price action that fills these gaps almost immediately, which this indicator detects one bar post-formation. Such rapid corrections signal a market keen on resolving imbalances, often overcorrecting and leading to new disparities, suggesting a cycle of feedback.

Configuration Settings

  • FVG Width Filter: Allows filtering out narrower FVGs to reduce signal noise.

Take Profit and Stop Loss (TP/SL) Settings

  • TP Area: Enable the display of take-profit zones for new signals.
  • Multiplier: Adjusts the take profit's proximity to the price, with higher numbers pushing it further away.
  • SL Area: Similar to TP Areas but for stop-loss configurations.
  • Multiplier: Determines how far the stop loss is set from the price.

Trailing Stop Settings

  • Reset Trailing Stop: Decides when the trailing stop is refreshed – on every signal or just on an inverse signal.
  • Multiplier: Sets the trailing stop’s starting distance from the price action.
