The ICT Macros indicator highlights specific time periods throughout the trading day where price volatility is expected to increase according to Inner Circle Trader (ICT) concepts. It aims to help traders identify precise windows where algorithms are likely to seek liquidity or fill Fair Value Gaps (FVG).

Usage

The indicator can be used to visually track "Macro" windows across the London and New York sessions. These periods are often characterized by significant price expansion or reversals, providing traders with high-probability entry or exit windows.

  • London Macros: Highlights intervals between 02:33 - 03:00 and 04:03 - 04:30 UTC-4.
  • New York AM Macros: Focuses on the morning session windows: 08:50 - 09:10, 09:50 - 10:10, and 10:50 - 11:10 UTC-4.
  • New York Lunch + PM Macros: Covers the midday and afternoon periods: 11:50 - 12:10, 13:10 - 13:40, and 15:15 - 15:45 UTC-4.

Traders can use these highlighted areas to look for specific price action setups, such as liquidity sweeps or displacement, occurring strictly within these time-bound brackets.

Details

The script executes by mapping specific UTC-4 timestamps (New York local time) onto the chart. It includes logic to adjust the precision of these highlights based on the active timeframe (e.g., 3m, 5m, 15m, 30m), ensuring that the visual boxes and lines align correctly with candle start and end times. The tool also includes a "Today Only" filter to keep charts clean by removing historical macro data.
