QQE Weighted Oscillator is LuxAlgo's build of QQE, a smoothed RSI paired with a trailing stop derived from that same RSI, plus a weighting stage that raises the effort required for the oscillator to cross its stop. With the RSI above the trailing stop, a higher Weight demands a more significant negative price fluctuation before a bearish cross prints; the output turns smoother and more cyclic as a result.

How to Trade the QQE Weighted Oscillator?

  • Overbought / oversold reads: stretch in the smoothed RSI flags conditions ripe for a turn, with the leading character of the oscillator giving early warning of potential reversals.
  • Trailing stop crosses: the oscillator crossing its trailing stop marks a momentum shift. The weighting filters out the casual crosses.
  • Divergences: as with a regular RSI, disagreement between price and oscillator can precede reversals.
  • Higher Factor values: configure a longer-term trailing stop suited to medium- and long-horizon reads.

Because weighting suppresses marginal crossings, the line spends longer stretches on one side of its stop, useful for traders whose strategies favor consistency over reaction speed.

QQE Weighted Oscillator Settings

  • Length: the period of the RSI oscillator.
  • Factor: multiplicative factor in the trailing stop calculation. Higher values track longer-term.
  • Smooth: the smoothing level applied to the RSI.
  • Weight: how heavily the RSI is weighted. More weight means crossings require larger moves.
