Press the bell on any indicator or strategy, your own Pine Script® included, and choose the output it fires on. Or ask Quant, our coding agent, to set it up.
Choose where it reaches you

Questions
How many alerts can I set on TradingView’s free plan?
On Vela’s free plan, Price Alerts are unlimited, with 5 Custom Alerts on indicators and strategies. TradingView’s free Basic plan allows 3 active price alerts and no technical alerts; its paid plans allow 20, 100, 400 and 1,000 of each.
Do TradingView alerts expire?
On Vela, no alert expires on its own: you choose when it ends, on a date or after a number of fires. On TradingView, alerts expire after 1 month on Basic and 2 months on Essential and Plus, with no expiry on Premium and Ultimate.
What is a Custom Alert?
An alert that runs a script for you, bar by bar on our servers: a saved Pine Script® indicator or strategy, a tool from the LuxAlgo Library, or a condition written by Quant, our coding agent. Free includes 5, firing when the bar closes; paid plans include 50, 100, 200, and 500, and can fire before the bar closes.
Can Vela alerts send webhooks?
Yes, on Essential and up: a Custom Alert on a strategy’s entries and exits sends each order to your bot as a signed webhook. On TradingView, webhook notifications also start at Essential.
Do alerts keep running with Vela closed?
Yes. Every alert runs on our servers around the clock, and browser notifications reach your device even with Vela closed.
