Trading the Breakout

The primary function of this tool is to isolate the price action occurring during a specific session window, typically the first hour of the market day. Once the session concludes, the indicator monitors for a breakout above the high or below the low of that range.

• Bullish Scenario: When price closes above the session high, the indicator triggers a breakout signal. It then looks for potential Bullish Order Blocks (OB) and Bearish Inversion Fair Value Gaps (IFVG) to provide actionable entry points.
• Bearish Scenario: When price closes below the session low, the tool signals a bearish trend. It then highlights potential Bearish Order Blocks and Bullish Inversion Fair Value Gaps.

Managing Zones

The script automatically manages your chart clutter by limiting the number of active zones displayed. As price interacts with these zones, the mitigation logic removes them once they have been tested or invalidated, ensuring your workspace remains focused on fresh, untested liquidity.

This script is built using Pine Script v6 and utilizes User Defined Types (UDTs) to manage box objects efficiently. By tracking the high and low of the defined session, it creates a persistent range that helps define the bias for the remainder of the trading day.

Inversion Fair Value Gaps (IFVG)

An Inversion FVG is identified when price, following a breakout, trades back into and closes on the opposite side of a previously formed FVG. This script monitors pending FVGs created after the session and marks them as IFVGs only if the breakout direction confirms the potential for a trend reversal or continuation.

Order Blocks (OB)

The indicator detects bullish and bearish engulfing patterns that align with the breakout direction. These blocks are projected forward for a set number of bars, allowing traders to see where historical order flow may influence future price movement.

Session Settings

• Timezone: Defines the local time zone for your session calculation (default is America/New_York).
• Session Time: Sets the specific start and end time for the range calculation (default is 0800 to 0900).
