Harmonic patterns are integral to traders' strategies for making informed investment choices. This tool automatically categorizes XABCD harmonic patterns highlighted by the user and triggers alerts when the price reaches the Potential Reversal Zone (PRZ) or D point, enhancing the efficacy of your trading strategies.

This versatile trading tool is capable of identifying Bat, Gartley, Butterfly, and Crab patterns, providing traders with essential insights to optimize their trading strategies.

Key Settings for Optimal Use

  • XA Precision: This setting is crucial for the accurate detection of the Gartley and Butterfly patterns, which require precise XA segment ratios. For instance, the optimal ratio for the Gartley pattern's XA segment is 0.618. With an XA precision setting of 0.01, the segment is correctly identified if it falls between 0.608 and 0.628, allowing for slight deviations.
  • Bullish: Designate the color for a bullish pattern.
  • Bearish: Designate the color for a bearish pattern.

The vertices X, A, B, C, and D dictate the locations of the harmonic pattern. Users can easily adjust these on their charts, akin to using a typical drawing tool, without altering settings. Proper vertex placement is fundamental when adding this indicator to a chart.

How to Trade Using the Harmonic Pattern Indicator

Harmonic Pattern Indicator

Once you've set the vertices for the harmonic pattern, you'll see the displayed segments, ratios, and PRZ. A convenient dashboard located in the upper right corner reveals which harmonic pattern has been identified, aiding you in making timely trading decisions.

Bearish Crab Pattern on BTCUSD15

Observe the identified bearish crab pattern on BTCUSD15.

Bullish Butterfly Pattern on MATICUSD15

Examine the bullish butterfly pattern on MATICUSD15. It's crucial not to set an XA precision value that allows overlapping detection ranges between Gartley/Harmonic and other patterns. Default values are recommended to avoid confusion in pattern detection.

Understanding the Potential Reversal Zone (PRZ)

The PRZ's limits are calculated with vertex D as a reference, adjusted by 38.2% of the DX segment. The upper limit is set as vertex D + 38.2% of DX, while the lower limit is vertex D - 38.2% of DX. Although there are various methodologies to determine the PRZ, this general approach is useful, but users can adapt it to suit the specific detected pattern.

Hovering over the labels that indicate segment ratios will provide the correct ratio each harmonic pattern uses for that segment. This feature enriches your understanding of pattern formation and assists in refining your trading practices.
