Sessions turns the clock into a chart object: it draws up to four custom trading sessions and builds metrics from the closing prices inside each one: a range highlight, a session trendline, a mean, and a session VWAP. Defaults cover the major forex windows; every session time is set in plain hh:mm. Because the math runs on intra-session closes, it is designed for charts of one hour or below, where each window still contains enough bars to measure.

How to Trade the Sessions?

  • Range highlights: compare the shaded boxes across the day to see which window produces the widest swings, then build your plan around it.
  • Session trendline: a fast read of the direction price took within a window, handy for catching an intraday shift early.
  • Mean and VWAP: the session mean marks an equilibrium level that often acts as support or resistance, while the session VWAP serves as a dynamic level during live trading.
  • Dashboard: Status shows whether a session is open, Trend scores direction from -1 to 1 (near either extreme means strongly one-way), Volume accumulates activity, and σ measures volatility for ranking windows.

Window-by-window dissection is the heart of time-based analysis: knowing which window moves your instrument decides when a setup is worth taking.

Sessions Settings

  • Enable Session: turns a configured session and all of its elements on or off.
  • Session Time: the window's opening and closing times in hh:mm format.
  • Range / Trendline / Mean / VWAP: toggle each per-session metric individually.
  • Show Dashboard: displays the overview table, with Advanced Dashboard adding the per-session statistics.
  • Show Session Divider / Show Daily Divider: mark session intervals and day boundaries along the chart's base.
