The Smart Money Reversal is a systematic indicator designed to identify high-probability reversal setups based on liquidity sweeps, displacement, and structural breaks. By monitoring where market participants traditionally place their stop-loss orders, the tool detects when these liquidity pools are swept and follows up with a rigorous analysis of subsequent price action. It provides traders with objective entry, stop, and target levels, helping to filter out market noise and focus on institutional-style reversal sequences.

How to Trade the Smart Money Reversal?

The indicator simplifies the complex process of identifying institutional reversals by focusing on clear, objective criteria. Traders should look for the following steps:

  1. Identification: The indicator maps swing highs and lows as potential liquidity pools where stop-loss orders are likely clustered.
  2. The Sweep: A trade signal begins when price trades through a liquidity pool and closes back within the range within a specific window of bars.
  3. Confirmation: The setup is validated when a change of character (CHoCH) occurs. The indicator looks for strong displacement or a fair value gap to ensure the reversal is driven by momentum rather than a temporary drift.
  4. Entry: Once confirmed, the indicator paints an entry zone, either a fair value gap or an order block. You can look to enter when the price retraces into this zone.
  5. Exit Strategy: Stops are placed relative to the extreme point of the sweep, while targets are projected toward the next untaken liquidity pool or a pre-defined risk-to-reward multiple.

Smart Money Reversal Settings

1. Pools

  • Pool Swing Length: Defines the sensitivity for identifying swing highs and lows as potential liquidity targets.
  • Equal Level Tolerance (ATR): Determines how close two swing levels must be to be categorized as equal highs or lows, which increases the setup quality.
  • Pool Max Age: Sets the maximum number of bars the indicator will track an untaken liquidity pool.
  • Pool View Range: Limits the range in which pools are drawn on the chart to maintain a clean workspace.

2. Sweep & Displacement

  • Sweep Close-Back: Specifies the number of bars allowed for price to close back inside the liquidity range to confirm a sweep.
  • Structure Swing Length: Sets the lookback period for identifying the structural swing that must be broken to validate the change of character.
  • Sequence Window: The maximum number of bars allowed between the initial liquidity sweep and the confirmed structural break.
  • Displacement Body (ATR): The minimum candle body size required to confirm that the move away from the sweep is significant.

3. Entry & Dashboard

  • Stop Buffer (ATR): Adds a padding factor to the stop loss, placing it safely beyond the sweep extreme.
  • Entry Window: The time limit in bars for the price to enter the designated entry zone before the setup expires.
  • Minimum Target R: The required distance for the take-profit target, based on your risk-to-reward settings.
  • Dashboard: Toggles the on-screen display which summarizes the trade status, setup grade, and active levels.
