RTH vs ETH

RTH vs ETH is the definitive clean build for trading the RTH vs ETH split. On intraday charts it shades the extended-hours session, plots the developing ETH high and low and projects the completed overnight range across the day session, and carries the prior RTH close forward as a dotted gap reference. Both US presets pin RTH to the 09:30-16:00 New York cash session, and a dashboard compares the two sessions statistically over a rolling lookback.

How to Trade the RTH vs ETH?

  • Open vs ETH range: an RTH open above the overnight high or below the overnight low starts the day out of balance — alerts flag both cases, plus gap up and gap down against the prior close.
  • ETH High/Low tests: the projected overnight extremes are the first references the day session tends to revisit; alerts fire the first time each is touched.
  • Gap status: price trading back to the dotted prior RTH close fills the opening gap; the dashboard shows today's gap, its status, and the historical fill rate.

The dashboard also splits average range, volume share, and where the combined day's extremes tend to print — the participation lens of the time & seasonality family.

RTH vs ETH Settings

  • Market Preset (default US Index Futures): both US presets use the 09:30-16:00 America/New_York cash session; Custom unlocks your own window.
  • Custom RTH Session (default 0930-1600) and Custom Timezone (default Exchange): used only with the Custom preset; the window must not cross midnight.
  • Statistics Lookback (Days) (default 20): completed trading days behind the dashboard averages.
  • Display toggles: Shade ETH Session (on), Shade RTH Session (off), ETH High/Low (on), and Prior RTH Close (on), plus the dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from Session & Weekly Profiles?

Session & Weekly Profiles reads the day against ICT's killzone templates, asking which window should print the extreme. This build makes one structural cut — regular hours versus everything else — and quantifies it: range, participation, extreme attribution, gap behavior.

Why is the dashboard showing a notice instead of statistics?

The comparison needs intraday bars, so daily and higher timeframes display an intraday-required notice. Equity charts also need extended-hours data enabled; without it there are no ETH bars to build an overnight range from.

Does it work outside US hours?

Yes. Select the Custom preset, define the RTH window, and pick its timezone — or keep Exchange to follow the symbol. Every statistic then rebuilds around your session convention.
