Lead-lag Instrument Triggers turns a leader-lagger relationship into an executable confirmation rule. Decisive events on the leader - a close through its prior 20-bar extreme, a failed poke beyond it, or an outsized one-bar return - arm a trigger window in that direction, the workflow of lead-lag instrument triggers, and the chart symbol signals only when it breaks its own equivalent level inside that window. The chart's breakout levels stay plotted, brightening on the armed side.

How to Trade the Lead-lag Instrument Triggers?

  • Trigger: the chart breaks its level inside the armed window - taken because the leader already broke; one trigger consumes the window.
  • Catch-up setup: a few bars in, the leader's move has held but the chart has barely followed - a setup for the lagged catch-up leg, not a trigger.
  • Non-confirmation: the window expires without the chart following - early evidence the leader's move may be exhausting.
  • Correlation gate: leader events below the minimum rolling correlation arm nothing - co-movement is re-validated continuously.

Lead-lag Instrument Triggers Settings

  • Leader Symbol (default BINANCE:BTCUSDT): the instrument presumed to move first.
  • Breakout Length (default 20): lookback of the key levels on leader and chart.
  • Breakouts, Failures At Key Levels and Momentum Thrusts (all on): the leader event types, with Thrust Window (default 100) and Thrust Threshold (Sigma) (default 2.0).
  • Trigger Window (Bars) (default 10): bars the chart has to confirm.
  • Correlation Gate (on) with Correlation Length (default 100) and Minimum Correlation (default 0.3).
  • Catch-up Setups (on) with Catch-up Check Delay (default 3) and Catch-up Max Relative Move (default 0.25); Non-confirmation Signals (on).
  • Show Dashboard (on, Top Right, Small) plus Chart Breakout Levels, Highlight Armed Window and Leader Event Markers (all on).

What does Lead-lag Detection add to this build?

Lead-lag Detection quantifies the relationship - peak lag, strength, significance - before a leader is trusted. This build assumes the pairing and executes on it, so run the detector first.

Why did a leader event arm nothing?

Three usual reasons: the correlation gate read below the minimum, simultaneous opposite events cancelled as ambiguous, or the leader bar was a stale repeat from a session mismatch - only fresh leader bars count.

Is a failure at highs bullish or bearish?

Bearish. A failed poke above the prior extreme arms the opposite direction - failures at highs arm bearish windows, failures at lows bullish ones.
