Nine Buying/selling Tests
By LuxAlgoAug 9, 2026
Nine Buying/selling Tests turns the Wyckoff tradition's pre-entry gate into a live, scored checklist. The build anchors a trading range at the scan window's extreme, measures the trend into it, and grades the nine buying and selling tests continuously, each row showing reading, pass/fail state and exact rule, the score in the header. The range box, stride line and projected objective are drawn on the chart.
How to Trade the Nine Buying/selling Tests?
- Score accumulating: the checklist is convergent evidence, not a trigger — the Wyckoff family tradition asks for most or all tests before committing; threshold and 9/9 alerts mark both stages.
- Auto side selection: a window that fell from its high into its low is audited as accumulation, the mirror as distribution; Test Set can force either side.
- Stride break + stepping structure: a dedicated alert marks this pairing some practitioners use to stage a starter position early.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this relate to Accumulation vs Distribution Ranges?
Accumulation vs Distribution Ranges classifies which side is likely operating inside a consolidation; the nine tests ask the later question — is the range finished and worth trading — as a formal readiness gate.
Why does test 8 use duration instead of a point & figure count?
The traditional measure is a point & figure count — its own tool. Bars since the anchor stand in as the proxy; Minimum Cause sets how old a base or crown must be.
Does the checklist work without volume data?
Partially. Tests 2 and 3 are volume evidence and cannot pass without it; the other seven grade normally, so the ceiling on volume-less symbols is 7/9.
