ICT IPDA
Dec 9, 2023

The ICT IPDA indicator is a specialized charting tool that identifies Interbank Price Delivery Algorithm (IPDA) data ranges by calculating historical and future 20, 40, and 60-day cycles from a user-defined start date. It aims to provide traders with precise high and low levels from previous lookback periods to serve as institutional objectives in subsequent price delivery windows.
Usage
The tool is designed for daily timeframes and lower, allowing users to pin a "Start IPDA" date which acts as the anchor for institutional cycle analysis.
- Lookback Analysis: The indicator highlights High and Low levels from the previous -20, -40, and -60 days. These levels often act as magnets or liquidity pools for future price action.
- Forward Projections: By projecting +20, +40, and +60 day markers, traders can anticipate timing windows where institutional price delivery may seek the previously identified historical levels.
- Directional Bias: Use the "IPDA for" setting to filter for Long (highs), Short (lows), or All levels depending on your market bias.
- Visual Targets: Users can enable price labels and divider lines to clearly distinguish between the lookback (Left IPDA) and lookforward (Right IPDA) zones.
Details
IPDA is a concept based on the theory that central banks and large institutions deliver price in specific time-based cycles. This script automates the manual task of counting back 20/40/60 days to find key institutional levels. It utilizes request.security to ensure high/low data is accurately pulled from the daily timeframe regardless of the chart's current resolution. The "Start" anchor allows for backtesting historical IPDA cycles or tracking the current live cycle.

FAQ
How do I use the "Start IPDA" anchor?
Simply select a significant market turning point or a known institutional cycle start date in the settings. The indicator will automatically project the 20, 40, and 60-day intervals from that point.
Can I use this on intraday timeframes?
Yes, while the IPDA cycles are based on daily data, the script is designed to overlay these daily levels on intraday charts (1H, 15m, etc.) for precise entry targeting.
